Abstract (English)

Works by seven Canadian artists, chosen for their concern with temporality and place within cultural, political and social experience, are analyzed. The use of photography in installation and the investigation of the commodification of nature, as well as issues of territory and remembrance are examined.

Résumé

Les oeuvres de sept artistes canadiens, choisies pour les liens qu'elles entretiennent avec les notions de temporalité et de lieu associées à l'expérience culturelle, politique et sociale, sont analysées. Le recours à la photographie dans le contexte de l'installation, l'exploration du phénomène de "commodification" de la nature ainsi que les notions de territoire et de remémoration sont examinées.
