Abstract (English)

Brief curatorial statements by Sims accompany this exhibition from the Whitney Museum's permanent collection. Fourteen paintings and four sculptures were chosen to show significant aspects of American art spanning a period from 1916 through to 1965. These works present artistic styles ranging from early modern realism to abstract expressionism and Pop art.
