Abstract (English)

Hickox's bookwork, a photographic sequence interspersed with selected poetry by Platana, explores "issues around the acquisition of language and the possibilities of communication" related to the experience of raising a deaf child. Lessard interprets the installation which combines photographic elements, sculpture, and film. Also includes an introduction by Gosselin, an artist's statement, and biographical notes. 14 bibl. ref.
