Abstract (English)

Tracing Ewen's career back to the 1950s, Shadbolt identifies the artist's shift in the early 1970s to new materials and to representation. Ewen's comments on each of the 19 illustrated paintings (1971-1974) provide insight into the artist's process. Brief biographical notes.
