Abstract (English)

Davis discusses the relationships between form, content and context in Aziz's paintings and sculptures, focusing on how they relate to cultural and religious traditions of Islam. Lerch's poetic description of Aziz's paintings draws on concepts of the body, spirit and flesh. Elgaard discusses the themes found within the folkloric story lines, playful metaphors and symbolism of the artist's painting. Biographical notes. 13 bibl. ref.
