Abstract (English)

Swannie's series of six textile "drawings", which afford a focused formal analysis of the practice of weaving, are described as signalling a desire to have her work bridge the split between craft and art. Hopper's pastel and photographic collages, which depict coastal scenes of her native, rural Nova Scotia, are seen as emerging from an awareness of historical and contemporary art.
