Abstract (English)

Lussier describes the sculptural and global characteristics of Goldsworthy’s work, and situates the artist’s physical experiments within the context of the British tradition. The author also reflects on the implications of Goldsworthy’s thematic reference to arches. Relations between man and nature are also discussed. Text in French and English. List of works. Lussier met en contexte l’œuvre d’expérimentation physique de Goldsworthy au sein de la tradition britannique, la caractérise plastiquement, et en décrit le processus d’élaboration dans son ensemble. Pour la première exposition de l’artiste en sol québécois, l’auteur aborde spécifiquement le thème de l’arche et ses implications en insistant sur le rapport qu’entretient l’homme avec son environnement, base du travail de Goldsworthy.
