Abstract (English)

Catalogue to accompany Rokeby’s exhibition of four works using interactive media. Campbell’s interpretation of the artist’s interactive sound installations – incorporating video cameras, image processors, computers and synthesizers – focuses on how technology is changing our relationship to time. Huhtamo draws attention to the discursive dimension of Rokeby’s open-ended technological system, while underlining the artist’s critical approach to interactive art. Other topics discussed include: the “meta-interactive” element in Rokeby’s installations, and the role of the interface in the process of interaction. Biographical notes. 8 bibl. ref.
