Abstract (English)

White’s essay on Metcalfe’s installation that incorporates re-creations of 27 classical Greek pots covered with surfaces painted in the artist’s neo-Brute motif, focuses on the artist’s use of parody to critique the modern museum’s legitimizing authority. Numerous references are made to Nietzsche’s philosophical critique of history. List of works. 20 bibl. ref.
