Abstract (English)

The main focus of this book is the presentation of contemporary photographers who have pursued the representation of “black identity” in their imagery. An introduction provides an historical context for understanding the contemporary work presented in the second section. The images from both sections were selected by Hall and Sealy, and Hall’s text introduces the artists and explains the governing themes and issues in their works. Index. 8 bibl. ref.
