Abstract (English)

Bailey notes that the title of Xiong’s exhibition “Yellow River, Blue Culture” refers not only to the flow of Chinese emigrants around the world, but also to the impact of Western culture on China due to the forces of globalization. Xiong develops the notion of hybridity in his text, and Hunter's curatorial essay addresses the history of the Chinese in Canada.
