Abstract (English)This catalogue documents the various works (photographs, installations, performances) produced by Laplante from 1992 to 2002. In her essay, curator Déry comments on the artist’s fantasy fiction skits where farce and tragedy meet. The texts focus on how these works break away from notions of tasteful, how they play into our collective imagination and destabilize our world view. Includes comments by the artist on 12 of her performances (in French only). Text by Déry in English, French and Italian; text by C. Casorat in English and Italian only.
