Abstract (English)

This catalogue for an exhibition of Niro’s work contains an artist’s statement, a poem by Daniel David Moses, and an essay by Gerald McMaster. McMaster describes each work and elaborates on the symbolism he discerns, relating it to his overarching theme: the spiritual core of humanity. He concludes that Niro’s reworking of the elements and motifs of Native culture contributes to the sovereignty of aboriginal peoples. List of works. Bio-bibliography 3 p.
