Bradley and Nemiroff examine the re-emergence of figuration, the questioning of both subjectivity and the social, and the role played by painting and photography since the 1970s. The curators then discuss the strategies used by 15 Canadian artists who address aspects of the politics of representation and the role of the spectator. Artists' statements. Biographical notes.
