Abstract (English)

Kardon writes on the ambivalent nature of public art in relation to how the public itself interacts with it. While Alloway addresses the problem of interpretability and understanding on the part of the public, McHarg interrogates the situation of those American public spaces imported from Europe with certain changes. Biographical indications on 21 American artists. Bibl. 5 p.
