Abstract (English)

Beesley’s interpretation of Forrest’s «Hiving Mesh» installation – a dense cluster of nearly 1000 ceramic objects (porcelain clay forms and glass paste plaques) resembling plant bulbs and body organs, hung in three-dimensional space – focuses on how ornamentation is used in the artist’s expanded structure. The author also situates the artist’s “architectural ceramics” within the context of modernity. References are made to texts by Buckminster Fuller, Georges Bataille and Ignasi de Solà-Morales.
