Abstract (English)

Dompierre presents Pethick's composite sculptures as a reconsideration of the dynamics of representation; she relates how selected objects in the real world are reconstituted through the artist's imagination, through "rational" translation (via photography) and fictive (i.e. sculptural) representation. The artist discusses space, imaginative structure and the photographic process. Biographical notes.
