Abstract (English)Catalogue to accompany a touring exhibition of Evans’ paintings created between 1995-2000. N. Tenhaaf’s brief text offers a semiotic reading of the artist’s Field Work series of paintings. Reid’s curatorial essay draws attention to affinities between Evans’ work and that of Canadian landscape painters Emily Carr and David Milne. Reid also considers how the artist’s perceptual experience of the outside world relates to Romanticism. Includes a transcribed conversation between Evans and Klunder. Texts in French and English. Tenhaaf propose une lecture sémiotique d’une exposition précédente de la série Field Work.
