Abstract (English)"Walking the Window, the title of the exhibition at Gallery 101, draws attention directly to the limits. The uncomfortable surface of appearances is here half opened by windows that give, among other things, the disturbing strangeness of certain floral motifs, the preciousness of the interlacing of lace, the seductive moiré of a curtain. The concern is that they awkwardly hide dark spaces that threaten to infiltrate. / The apparent artisanal methodologies employed by Rhonda Weppler in her sculptural work are in fact rooted in a strategy of minimal sculpture; the void at the heart of minimalism is here transposed into the domestic world. If, historically, minimalism was a type of architecture activated by moving bodies in a given social space, Weppler's work emphatically articulates this public and neutral arena into the social sphere of the home. L’inconfortable surface des apparences est ici ouverte à demi par des fenêtres qui donnent, entre autres choses, sur l’inquiétante étrangeté de certains motifs floraux, de la préciosité des entrelacs d’une dentelle, du moiré séduisant d’un rideau. L’inquiétude vient du fait qu’ils cachent maladroitement des espaces obscures qui menacent de s’infiltrer. / Les apparentes méthodologies artisanales employées par Rhonda Weppler dans son travail sculptural sont en fait enracinées dans une stratégie de sculpture minimale; le vide au coeur du minimalisme est ici transposé dans le monde domestique. Si, historiquement, le minimalisme constituait un type d'architecture activé par des corps en mouvement dans un espace social donné, le travail de Weppler fait s'articuler avec emphase cette arène publique et neutre en sphère sociale de la maison.
