Abstract (English)

Swinton defines different types of fantasy art and relates them to Eskimo oral traditions. Describing the collecting of the stories, the author discusses their qualities in relation to the carvings. Includes a description of a sculpture competition in Povungnituk. 35 bibl. ref.
