Abstract (English)This exchange reflects the adoption of an extended mandate by many Canadian artists' centres, that is the diffusion of the artists' production outside their respective city and province. The unveiling of regional tendencies, as opposed to those of the great urban centres, is stressed. The curators point to certain differences between the works from Hamilton and those from Québec, identifying multiculturalism and monumentality on one side, and investigation of the specificity and history of a medium and intimacy on the other.
