Abstract (English)

Three essayists examine Balser's activity as a gay activist and video artist: McIntosh focuses on the fluctuations affecting queer identity through successive waves of new technology, Treleaven analyses the video "Positive Men" (1995), and Paterson focuses on the artist's tapes from the 1980s. In an interview with Doyle, Balser recounts childhood memories, his first gay experiences, and his activity as a film and video artist. Includes excerpts from a video script. Biographical notes. 19 bibl. ref.
