Abstract (English)

Three authors reflect upon Gray's fifteen-year project "The Parents" -composed of three photographic series : "the narratives" (staged tableaux of the artist's parents), "close-ups" (magnified details of skin and domestic surfaces), "scans" (X-Rays, C-T and MRI scans/transparencies of the parents' bodies and household objects). The psychological and emotional aspects of the works are considered, along with subjects such as family, fantasy, memory, identity and mortality. Brief biographical notes.
