Abstract (English)

"Style Council" is the title of a group exhibition and accompanying catalogue, as well as the name of the four Halifax-based curators responsible for the project. The catalogue contains texts by each curator, through which issues of race, gender, sexuality and fetishism are discussed. The publication's design corresponds directly to the curatorial intent, which is to present styles of art frequently assimilated into the fashion-system. Biographical notes on artists. 21 bibl. ref.
