Abstract (English)

This "Virtual Museum" on CD-ROM contains approximately three thousand reproductions of photographic works by 68 Quebec contemporary artists, as well as a search tool (named IKONA) which allows search by author, by work, or by criteria such as practice (photomontage, documentary...) and genre (fiction, portraiture...). Introduction by M. Blouin on the virtual character of this image bank; brief text by F. Michel on the choice of the classification system; elaborate biographical notes on each artist, which occasionally include bibliographical references.

Ce "Musée virtuel" sur cédérom propose environ trois mille reproductions d'oeuvres photographiques par 68 artistes québécois contemporains, et comprend un outil logiciel (baptisé IKONA) permettant la recherche par auteur, par oeuvre, ou par des critères tels que la pratique (photomontage, documentaire...) et le genre (fiction, portrait...). Introduction de M. Blouin sur le caractère virtuel de cette banque d'images; bref texte de F. Michel sur le choix du système de classification des oeuvres. Notice biographique élaborée sur chaque artiste, incluant occasionnellement des références bibliographiques.
