Abstract (English)

Wallace examines Alexander's recent mirror installations as well as her early photo-works. By situating the critical effect of the artist's reflexive appropriation of readymade photographs within the context of Conceptual art, he draws attention to relationships between aesthetics, the space of reality, representation and spectatorship. Concepts of allegory, the sublime, "hyperbolic" beauty and the body are also discussed. Biographical notes. 39 bibl. ref.
