Abstract (English)

This catalogue documents a major exhibition of three large-scale photoconceptual installations by Askevold, which address issues of landscape and cultural geography by incorporating aerial photographs and underwater video footage of harbours on the Eastern and Western coastlines of Canada. The publication contains critical essays by Graff and Watson - which situate Askevold's work within the contexts of Conceptual and Narrative/Story art -, biographical texts by Kelley and Eyland, video notes and maps related to the installations, and extensive documentation of the artist's photo/text works.
