Abstract (English)

This novel - part of an exhibition also titled "Up North" - presents a story by Hunter based on the tragic deaths of artist Tom Thomson and hockey player Bill Barilko. Written in a cinematic style, it combines biographical references to the lives of both men with the narrator's first person reflections on growing up in the city, being in the north and watching "Hockey Night in Canada". 17 bibl. ref.
