Abstract (English)A chronological, exhaustive inventory of Le Lieu’s first 15 years of gallery programming and various outreach activities, events and productions; with information essential to the analysis of the main currents of performance, installation, public intervention (“manœuvre”) and media arts in Quebec. An introduction by Martel accompanies reflective and critical writing by key contributors, concerning alternative networks, nomadism, solidarity and international exchange. Includes (in French only): reprints of articles covering Le Lieu’s activities; lists of video and audio recordings (with descriptions and technical information) connected to or produced at the centre; and a list of publications by Éditions Intervention. Abundantly illustrated with images and historical documents from the centre’s archives. Five of the main texts translated into English. Circa 30 bibl. ref. RésuméCet ouvrage recense chronologiquement et de manière exhaustive – pour les 15 premières années d’existence du centre d’artistes – la programmation de la galerie, les activités ponctuelles et les diverses productions qui s’y rattachent, tout en fournissant une documentation indispensable à l’analyse des grands axes de l’art actuel au Québec dans les domaines de la performance, de l’installation, de la manœuvre et des arts média. Présenté par Martel, abondamment illustré à partir des archives du centre, il réunit également les textes réflexifs ou critiques d’importants collaborateurs ayant trait aux pratiques expérimentales et aux réseaux alternatifs, au nomadisme, à la solidarité et aux échanges internationaux auxquels se greffent de courts documents historiques sur les événements.
