Abstract (English)

An unbound publication to accompany in/habit, a group exhibition of installations by six women artists based in Canada. This catalogue designed by A. Somerset consists of a note pad (with Butler’s curatorial text), a staple bound booklet on each artist’s work (with poetic texts by Legris), three postcard inserts (with texts by Legris and images by Somerset/Butler), and a paper wrap to hold the elements together (with an introductory text by Butler, statement by Legris and gallery floor plan). Butler’s self-reflexive poetic text touches on issues of chance, trust, gift giving and exchange. Dance is also used as a physical/conceptual metaphor for the project, which brought together artists dealing with issues of isolation and solitude for a month-long residency.
