Abstract (English)

Landry’s interpretation of Gilot’s installation “Libre arbitre” (Free Will) places emphasis on the concept of observation and the metaphor of play. Landry also situates the piece (comprised of two architectural structures: a bridge and step pyramid) within the context of the artist’s previous site-specific installations. The narrative aspect of Gilot’s work is also discussed. Text in French and English. Bio-bibliography 3 p.

Publication documentant l’installation «Libre arbitre» de Gilot, composée de deux structures peintes en rouge (pont et pyramide à degrés). Pour commenter l’œuvre exposée, le conservateur Landry a recours à la notion d’observation et à la métaphore du jeu, établissant des liens avec les précédentes installations in situ de l’artiste et attirant l’attention sur sa dimension narrative.
