Abstract (English)

Garneau’s interpretation of Osborne’s sculptures and installations created between 1996 and 1999, focuses on the lyrical and poetic qualities of their “organic minimalism.” Issues of memory and healing are considered in relation to Osborne’s logic of collecting and use of natural materials. Includes numerous references to A. Koestler’s theory of holons (based on the relationship between part and whole). Excerpts from artist’s statements. List of works. Biographical notes. 12 bibl. ref.
