Abstract (English)

Published in conjunction with an exhibition of new photographic works by Lloyd and McCray, co-curated by C. Garnet and S. Switzer. In her introduction, Garnet explains how the two artists are linked with the Toronto “photo-based tradition of constructing pictorial allegory.” Switzer provides an in-depth analysis of McCray’s video Gnawts (and accompanying video stills), and Lloyd’s series of digital prints entitled Searchworks. Brief statements by the artists. Biographical notes on artists and curators.
