Abstract (English)

Catalogue for an exhibition of Mueller’s paintings, “sculptures of paintings,” and installations produced between 1981-1999. Garvey’s curatorial essay traces the development of Mueller’s preoccupation with the realms of reason/feeling and visual syntax. The artist’s formal/personal influences and use of support materials (especially glass) are also considered in relation to conceptual, philosophical and emotional aspects of the work. Philosopher Keshen reflects on his friendship with Mueller and the intersection of their thought. Biographical notes . 9 bibl. ref.
