Abstract (English)

This exhibition catalogue documents Guerrera’s installation comprised of sculptural objects and drawings, presented at the Leonard & Bina Ellen Art Gallery in 1999. Antaki traces the evolution of the artist’s practice, and places emphasis on Guerrera’s symbolic references to the body (individual, political and social). Texts in French and English. Biographical notes including selective bibliography.

Présentation d’un travail installatif de Massimo Guerrera (1998-99) comprenant des objets sculpturaux et plusieurs séries de dessins. Retraçant le processus d’élaboration de l’œuvre, Antaki évoque l’univers de cet artiste qui, symboliquement, joue sur tout ce qui «traverse» l’humain et met en relief ses relations au corps individuel, politique et social. Texte en français et en anglais. Notice biographique, incluant bibliographie sélective.
