Abstract (English)Proceedings from a conference on cultural identity in the age of globalisation and post-colonialism, this volume incorporates commentaries on art, politics and ethics. Six authors cover the following topics: conceptualism as a process and a global phenomenon (while referring to the work of several South American artists); the relation between pictoral and politico-historic discourses in Haiti; translation as a transcultural process; the concept of “the world” in relation to the work of L. Golub; the milieu and production of First Nations artists in Canada in the 1990’s; the aesthetic identity of Iran in light of its traditions. C. Fusco discusses her performance work and its sociopolitical aspects. Texts by Laroche, Ouellet, and Richard in French. Biographical notes on the participants; 70 bibl. ref.
