Abstract (English)

This publication documents 23 exhibitions and events programmed by La Centrale for 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. It contains texts by 22 female authors (artists, critics and curators), who examine the works of approximately 40 women artists. It also documents the 4th edition of Mois de la performance (held in Montreal and Ottawa); with texts by Echenberg, Cotton and Spencer. Includes excerpts of an email exchange from Majdan’s performance, and a list of women-related arts organizations and events. Texts in French or English, with abstracts in both languages (for the most part). Biographical notes. Circa 400 bibl. ref.

Ce document présente les 23 expositions et événements organisés par la galerie La Centrale lors des saisons 1999-2000 et 2000-2001 – soit au total les œuvres d’une quarantaine d’artistes, analysées par 22 auteures (artiste, conservatrice ou spécialiste). Suit une section qui traite de la 4e édition du Mois de la performance, où R. Echenberg, S. Cotton et K. Spencer commentent les œuvres au programme à Montréal et à Ottawa – où une version abrégée de l’événement était présentée. Inclut un échange par courriel tiré de la performance de I. Majdan. Liste d’organismes et d’événements artistiques s’adressant aux femmes. Textes en français ou en anglais avec (pour la plupart) un résumé dans l’autre langue.
