Abstract (English)

Ohama’s hand-bound, limited edition book of poetry is dedicated to the artist’s grandmother and to the burgeoning relationship between them as the artist attempts to learn Japanese. An investigation of the artist’s cultural background, her family’s history, and the desire to communicate, the book includes a glossary of Japanese words and phrases.
