Abstract (English)

Celebrating the Surrey Art Gallery’s 25th anniversary and surveying its history, this catalogue focuses on the gallery’s devotion to community involvement, and features four community-based artist’s projects that make up the “Connections” exhibition. Laurence discusses the projects and describes their various methods of giving a voice to a community, while Alibhai takes a global approach and situates the exhibition in terms of developments in art history and practice.
