Abstract (English)

Jørgensen argues that the artists in this exhibition use sound as a material to investigate notions of space and their physical, psychological, and social complements. Texts on the artists and their practices are followed by lengthier theoretical essays considering the interrelation between art, sound, space and society from a variety of angles, such as the historical, literary, musical, cultural, philosophical and political. D. Diederichsen describes the design of the exhibition as a meander that represents the problematics of sound addressed therein. Includes an audio CD with 13 tracks by 15 artists. List of works.
