Abstract (English)

This catalogue presents large format photographs originally designated for an exhibition in the windows of a clothing store in New York City that was cancelled because of the events of Sept. 11, 2001. Daigle analyses the works of the five artists according to their relationship with the viewer, and underlines how they subtly denunciate the values of a merchandising society. List of works. Présentation des photographies grand format conçues à l’origine pour être exposées dans les vitrines d’une boutique de vêtements à New York - mais qui n’ont pu l’être en raison des événements du 11 septembre 2001. Daigle analyse le travail des cinq artistes selon leurs rapports au lieu et au spectateur, et souligne comment les œuvres dénoncent de façon subtile les valeurs de la société marchande.
