Jessica DiamondTools Moos, David. Jessica Diamond. Toronto, Ont.: Art Gallery of York University, 2002.
Abstract (English)According to Moos, Diamond has side-stepped postmodernism’s repeated claims regarding the death of painting, by allowing the presence of her chosen forbears to condition the reception of her work, thus supplanting ego with eros. By insulating herself from the caprices of the art world, Moos argues that Diamond is free to play with the appearance and content of modern painting in her fluctuation between literal letters and abstract forms.
