Abstract (English)

Darroch-Lozowski's book centres around her voyage to Antarctica in search of a "virgin continent," not habited by humanity. Interweaving poetic prose, words drawn from alchemy, and photographs, the author explores how Antarctica came to be inscribed upon her body. Both through its graphic form and self-reflexiveness, the book proposes a non-colonizing relationship to language and reading. Includes glossary, list of mythological names, and brief biographical notes. 22 bibl. ref.
