Figuring Redemption : Resighting My Self in the Art of Michael SnowTools Kellman, Tila. Figuring Redemption : Resighting My Self in the Art of Michael Snow. Waterloo, Ont.: Wilfrid Laurier University Press, 2002.
Abstract (English)Kellman’s book, which combines first person engagement with Snow’s work and third person analysis of the body of criticism surrounding it, espouses the position of the embodied viewer in the reception of art. Kellman argues that the contemporary sense of self as “fallen” due to modern technology can be redeemed in part through a process of self-questioning that Snow’s practice initiates in the viewer.
