Abstract (English)

This catalogue documents a retrospective exhibition of sculptures, prints and drawings produced by Rabinowitch between 1963 and 1995. Bélisle stresses the artist's unique practice, which is strongly influenced by philosophy, architecture and sciences. She provides a detailed analysis of several works, with particular emphasis on their forms and materials. Drawing an analogy between Rbainowitch's work and that of the Constructivists, Kuspit also demonstrates how it differs from Minimalism. Includes two interviews where the artist elaborates on his practice and on his "Metrical (Romanesque) Construction" series. List of works; biographical notes (4 p.); 20 bibl. ref.
