Abstract (English)This catalogue documents works produced by Maestro from 1991 to 2001, including two installations brought together under the title “Quiet Rooms” . Tyndale and McFarlane analyze the pieces in the exhibition, focusing on their materiality, their metaphorical scope and the process involved in their production. Baert’s text introduces the main themes and characteristics of Maestro’s practice (repetition and labor, matter and absence, language and silence) while in an interview with the curator (in English only), the artist discusses her work from political and cultural perspectives.
