Abstract (English)

Kennedy elaborates on his painting installation for this German gallery, explaining the historical and culturally specific relevance of colour to the site in Erfurt, and to its sister city of Shawnee (Kansas, USA). He describes the concept behind his monochromatic canvases corresponding to colour-related names in the phonebooks of both cities. Includes photos of the installation and lists the names and telephone numbers selected. Texts in German and English.
