Abstract (English)Bourgeois analyses works by four artists: an installation by Whiteside and photographs by Thomas, both of which deal with monuments in Ottawa (one in relation to language and human rights, the other highlighting the historical role of First Nations peoples); a video installation by Barak and Billings that refers to the “language” of birds and our anthropocentric view of nature.
