Abstract (English)

This audio cassette contains sound recordings made by Hildegard Westerkamp in two wilderness environments. “Both Cordillera and Zone of Silence Story are concerned with the fragility of wilderness. […] It contains large patches of silence that must also be heard. The two pieces try to bring some of that silence, and some of the particular kind of listening it requires, back to the urban dweller.” -- sleeve
