Abstract (English)

"This publication evolved from Art and expression of the Netsilik, an exhibition held at the Winnipeg Art Gallery from December 1997 to April 1998. Both the publication and exhibition are the culmination of almost twenty years of interest and involvement with the people and the art of three communities in the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut - Kugaaruk (formerly Pelly Bay), Taloyoak (formerly Spence Bay), and Gjoa Haven." -- document, page 7.
